Today, a 'Guinness Book of World Records' record was broken - when the largest number of 'Robin Hood's' assembled in Nottingham.
And, on the back of a few weeks of thoughts, I pose a question.....
Robbin Hood - for all his swashbuckling and green tights - is supposed to have lived 'stealing from the rich to feed the poor'.
According to Robert Kiyosaki this puts RH on a par with a tax collector and renders him a crook.
My far less capitalist persuasions had always adjudged him more of a hero!
....so what do we think? Robin Hood, scoundral or saviour? Hero or crook.....?

As far as i understand it (and i admit to not understanding politics in the slightest) our welfare state is based upon a robin hood theology :"taxing/stealing from the rich to feed/house the poor"....but then im all for the welfare state...and i love robin hood the movie (disney cartoon version of course, as the witch in the prince of thieves on freaks me out)...so that makes me even more confused than you!

personally - i'm with penny in this on this one - hood... hero not zero. definatley. i also prefer the disney version, but i do wish wish we could have a good hood with a nice nottinghamshire accent rather than a lousy hollywood one. my main opinion when reading this post tho hdc is... huh?
Well, it does say in the Bible too to give from your excess to the one that is lacking.(2 Cor.8:13-14 where Paul encourages generosity)
Also, I guess in modern day Robin hood could be seen as someone who works to collect money from the rich to deliver it to the poor, like someone raising funds for a charity.
Hero still I say! =)
